Professor Eleanor Bourke chair of the Yoorrook Justice Commission
Approximately 100 QHM members and friends enjoyed Professor Bourke speaking about the Yoorrook Truth- Telling and yarning circles at the May monthly talk.
This is the first Truth-Telling Commission in Australia, and it was a privilege to host Professor Bourke’s first presentation to other than an indigenous group.
After the talk Convenor Diana Allen began her own truth-telling by presenting Professor Bourke with an aboriginal digging stick from Mt. Noorat given to her over 60 years ago. Professor Bourke was visibly moved and it was a poignant and emotional time for many in the audience also.
