A large museum eater arrived on site and by early February had begun its task of completely dismantling the original Museum. By Tuesday 9th, all that remained was the original concrete floor slab and by 16th, even that was gone.
All is now in readiness for the builders to begin setting out and excavating the basement prior to pouring foundations on which new Museum is to be constructed.
The Museums Consultant is finalising display plans for the new Museum and when completed, the Display and Exhibition Team will begin the massive job of implementing and erecting the displays so they can be ready in time for the opening of the Hub early in 2022.
