The Central Asian Republic of Tajikistan is a 20th century creation. It has areas of dramatic beauty, a fascinating history and serious ongoing problems, including civil unrest and a threat of terrorism. Dr Ann Hone, a retired academic, has travelled in Tajikistan. She will share her experiences and knowledge of the area’s history and culture in a talk at 10.30 am for 11.00 am on Friday, 27 September at the Community Hall, Point Lonsdale.
Ann has taught British and Australian history and published in both fields. She enjoys overseas travel and increasing her knowledge and understanding of the history and culture of other countries.
