DESCRIPTION: Monthly Talks - “The lady with the gavel\" 30 years of Red Cross in Queenscliff Thirty years ago, Val Lawrence, just returned to Queenscliff from over three years in London, received a lifechanging phone call. It was from a local who had seen a Red Cross advertisement seeking a Chairperson for the local unit. She knew of Val’s amazing energy and drive and thought she would be just perfect for the role. The unit had been running for over 80 years and their members were of the same vintage as the unit. Reluctantly, Val went along to be greeted by eight charming older ladies ready with gavel in hand. “Oh,” they said. “How lovely to have someone so young to chair our meetings.” Val was just over 50, and 30 years later she is searching for another young 50-year-old to relieve her of the Gavel. Should she run a new advertisement? Please join us at the Point Lonsdale Hall for this interesting Museum Talk. Where: Point Lonsdale Community Hall, Bowen Road, Point Lonsdale Date: Friday 23 June Time: 10.30/11.00-12 midday  (join us for light refreshments 10.30 - 11am) Cost: Tickets are $5 for Museum Members & National Trust and $10 for non-members.
